Child Safety Seat Guidelines & Laws - Protect What You Love Most
The all-new 2019 VW Jetta was recently celebrated at Ontario Volkswagen in the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario California. Melissa Chaney and her son Ryan came out to test drive the new VW packed with high-tech innovation. Hear what the mother-son-duo had to say about their test drive in this iDriveSoCal Podcast
Recording date – April 24, 2018 in Ontario, CA
Melissa Chaney: I love all the digital display. It drives really smooth. Ambient lighting, how you can change the colors. That’s what I like the best. It’s very roomy, comfortable, very soft seats.
Ryan Chaney: It’s nice and smooth I like that it’s a bit fast. And it’s just an amazing car.
Tom Smith: Welcome to iDriveSoCal, the podcast all about mobility from the automotive capital of the United Sates, Southern California. I’m Tom Smith out at Ontario Volkswagen, the Los Angeles suburb of Ontario, California, and we are enjoying the launch party for the all new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Melissa Chaney is with me. She just got back from a test drive. Melissa, tell me about your experience.
Melissa Chaney: It was a lot of fun driving it. It drives really smooth. The interior is amazing. I love how it’s set up. I love how the radio has been raised up on the dash instead of lower, so it’s better for your eyes to see that. I love all the digital display. It drives really smooth. It’s really nice. It’s very comfortable.
Tom Smith: So one of the things that we do on iDriveSoCal when we do vehicle reviews is we identify the top three things. So I think you just rattled those off, but in order of your preference, Melissa, what are the top three things for you with regard to the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta?
Melissa Chaney: Definitely interior. That wins be over, yes. The way it’s laid out. All the digital. Ambient lighting, how you can change the colors.
Tom Smith: Right. That is cool.
Melissa Chaney: Pretty cool, yes. The navigation, also on your center cluster instead of off to the right-
Tom Smith: Yep.
Melissa Chaney: … in your radio, so it’s right there in your eyes. You’re not removing your eyes from the road.
Tom Smith: Okay.
Melissa Chaney: That’s what I like the best. It’s very roomy, comfortable, very soft seats. Everything’s power, which I like.
Tom Smith: Yep.
Melissa Chaney: Power seats, very nice.
Tom Smith: Okay. All right. Well, Melissa from Corona, thank you so much. Appreciate you being on iDriveSoCal.
Melissa Chaney: Thank you for having me.
Tom Smith: Yes, yes, and thank you for driving the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta here at Ontario Volkswagen. I think real quick we’re going to put your son, Ryan, on the podcast. Come here, Ryan. How old are you, Ryan?
Ryan Chaney: 13.
Tom Smith: Well, just a few. Literally, three years, you’re in business, huh? All right. So three years from now, are you a 2019 Jetta buyer? Or actually three years from now, what you can do is just have your mom give the 2019 Jetta that she bought to you, right? That’s a good 16th birthday present. What’d you like about the drive?
Ryan Chaney: It’s nice and smooth. It has good interior. I like that it’s a bit fast. And it’s just an amazing car.
Tom Smith:Smooth, good interior, fast, and an overall amazing car. Okay. You know it’s fast, but did you drive?
Ryan Chaney: No.
Tom Smith: Okay, okay, you didn’t drive. All right. Well, very good. Thank you for joining me. Is there anything else before we say goodbye, that you’d like to say about the 2019 Jetta? No, okay. Oh, was there one more thing?
Ryan Chaney: Oh, yeah, the lights.
Tom Smith: The lights. The ambient lighting inside. Yeah, that’s pretty cool, right? Changes colors. What’s your favorite color?
Ryan Chaney: Purple.
Tom Smith: Yeah, that’s cool. All right. Well, excellent. Ryan Chaney from Corona, California, thank you so much for being on iDriveSoCal. Thank you for coming out to the 2019 Jetta launch party here at Ontario Volkswagen. For iDriveSoCal, I’m Tom Smith. Thank you for listening.
