Here at Ontario Volkswagen, we’ve been in the industry so long, we don’t always remember what it was like before we were aware of trim levels. Trims, or grades, allow you to select versions of the same model that are outfitted with more and more features. A base trim gives you what an automaker considers necessities. From there, you might find more technology, drivers assistance features or style options to create the perfect vehicle for you. In the case of the new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, you can see a brief trim level comparison breakdown to help you decide which model is the right choice for you.
Thought the 2018 VW Atlas is a new seven-seat, three-row SUV, it promises to be a popular choice for American families as pricing is competitive against other options on the market today. A smart starting MSRP makes it accessible for most, but it also comes in a total of six trim levels so you can upgrade for the top features offered in today’s vehicles.

When it comes to a well-rounded, full-size SUV, you can’t do better than the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Every model is well-equipped, attractive and powerful. At launch, the S Launch trim adds extra features, but is only available paired with the V6 engine. Later, the S trim will replace it, offering both the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and the V6.
Though features may change depending on trim level, you’ll find that the choice between the 235-horsepower 4-cylinder engine or 3.6-liter V6 are options on all but the top trim SEL Premium, which will only be paired with the V6. The 4Motion AWD system can also be paired with the V6 engine for those who enjoy a better feeling of stability or worry about road conditions.
